Timna is not mentioned in the Bible but the area was used for copper mining during the biblical period. Evidence of the Midianites, Egyptians, Assyrians, and other nations is clearly seen throughout the region.
About 17 miles north of Eilat (northern tip of the Red Sea), Timna Park is one of the most popular attractions in Southern Israel. Of particular interest is the life-size replica of the wilderness Tabernacle, which Moses and the Israelites built as God’s dwelling place during their desert wanderings and occupation in the Promised Land.
